Location: Central London (Hybrid)

A fast-growing, venture-backed technology business operating AI is seeking a General Accountant to join its expanding finance team. Following significant investment and international growth, the business is building a best-in-class finance function and offers an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious accountant looking to broaden their experience across a rapidly scaling global organisation.

Reporting into senior finance leadership, this role will provide exposure across multiple entities, international operations, month-end reporting, VAT compliance and system transformation projects.

Responsibilities:

Processing supplier invoices, employee expenses and payment runs across multiple entities
Posting journals including accruals, prepayments, payroll and intercompany transactions
Preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations including bank, AP, payroll and deposit accounts
Supporting UK VAT returns and assisting with overseas VAT compliance activities
Maintaining fixed asset and prepayments registers in accordance with company policy
Assisting with month-end close processes and reporting pack preparation
Supporting year-end audit requirements and responding to auditor requests
Contributing to finance process improvements and ERP implementation activities
Working with multi-currency transactions and international banking arrangements

Candidate Profile:

Part-qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA accountant, or equivalent accounting experience
Minimum 2 years' experience within a finance or accounting role
Strong grounding in double-entry bookkeeping and core accounting principles
Experience across accounts payable, journals and reconciliations
Strong Excel skills including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs
Previous experience using Xero or a similar accounting system
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Strong communication skills and willingness to take ownership of a broad workload
