General Administrator 6 Month Fixed-Term Contract

ADS Laser Cutting is a full service metalwork specialist, offering laser cutting, folding, fabrication, finishing, and assembly services. We are looking for a General Administrator, for a 6 month fixed term period.

Role Profile:  The General Administrator is an all round administrative role providing day to day support to the business and manufacturing operation.  The primary responsibility of the role is to provide effective administrative support to the purchasing function, ensuring purchase orders, supplier information, documentation and related administration are processed accurately and efficiently. The role will work closely with the Procurement Manager and suppliers to support the smooth and timely flow of purchasing activities.

In addition to purchasing administration, the role will provide secondary support and cover for sales order processing and reception, including during busy periods, staff holidays and periods of absence. The role therefore requires a flexible and organised approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities and provide support across different areas of the business as required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide day to day administrative support to the Purchasing function, including raising purchase orders and maintaining accurate purchasing records.


• Liaise with suppliers regarding orders, pricing, deliveries and routine queries, escalating issues where required.


• Maintain accurate supplier information, spreadsheets and purchasing records using Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office systems.


• Support the Procurement Manager with general purchasing administration, reporting and supplier documentation.


• Provide cover for sales order processing when required, including accurately processing customer orders using Lantek and resolving order queries with sales and production.


• Provide reception cover during breaks, holidays and staff absence, including answering calls and dealing with routine customer and supplier enquiries.


• Assist with chasing proforma payments and liaise with accounts as required.


• Maintain accurate records and complete general administration and data entry duties.


• Use Outlook and Microsoft Office effectively for day to day communication and administration.


• Support the wider administration team during busy periods and provide flexible cover where required.
  

Skills, Experience & Personal Attributes:

• Strong administrative skills, particularly in Microsoft Office (Excel and Outlook), with excellent attention to detail.


• Experience in purchasing administration, customer service and professional communication with suppliers and customers.


• Adaptable and flexible, with the ability to provide cover across Purchasing, Sales Administration and Reception.
