General Catering Assistant - (Nights)

Full Time: 35 hours per week (nights)

Salary: £12.60 per hour

We are seeking a dedicated General Catering Assistant to join our night shift team in Kingston upon Hull, United Kingdom. This role is crucial in supporting our catering operations during night hours, ensuring high-quality food service and maintaining a clean, efficient kitchen environment.

• Assist in the preparation and serving of food items according to menu specifications and dietary requirements
• Operate and maintain various kitchen equipment, ensuring proper use and cleanliness
• Adhere to all food safety and hygiene standards, keeping the kitchen and food service areas spotless
• Support the kitchen team in stock rotation, inventory management, and food storage
• Assist with the set-up and breakdown of catering events or food service areas
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during night shifts
• Respond promptly and courteously to customer queries or special requests
• Maintain a tidy and organised workspace, following all health and safety guidelines

• Proven experience in food handling and preparation techniques
• Familiarity with kitchen equipment operation and maintenance
• Strong understanding of food hygiene and safety standards
• Basic numeracy skills for inventory management and portioning
• Excellent time keeping abilities and organisational skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights
• Flexibility to work night shifts and occasional weekends or holidays
• Food hygiene certificate is desirable
• Previous experience in catering or food service is preferred but not essential
