Job Description - General Hand

Do you have experience working in a within a manufacturing environment?

If so, this position could be perfect for you! Our client is a global, leading precision component manufacturer primarily operating in the Aerospace sector. They manufacture precision engineered parts for aerospace customers (mainly precision fabrication and machining) and are looking for a General Hand to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience supporting a facilities/maintenance department.

£12.85 per hour (£26,059.80 per annum)
Day Shift: 07.30-16.30 Monday-Thursday, and Friday 07.30-12.30

Job Description

Perform routine cleaning duties including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and surface wiping across all general areas.
Complete general repair and maintenance work throughout the facility.
Carry out minor maintenance tasks & undertake grounds maintenance
Adhere to COSHH guidelines and use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely.
Assist with maintenance tasks, particularly cleaning and preventative maintenance of plant machinery and equipment.
Conduct and document regular inspections and routine maintenance activities.
Operate forklifts when required and hold appropriate certification.
Drive company vehicles to transport tools, machinery, and equipment as needed.
Conduct routine checks and basic maintenance of vehicles and gardening equipment.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of repair and maintenance activities.

Essential Experience/Skills/Qualifications

Heavy lifting – 15kg-18kg
A general handy-man skill set
Willing and able to drive to a van from time to time (go to the Derby site) Driving License
