General Haulage Planner

GENERAL HAULAGE PLANNER | £32,000 | Birchwood, Warrington

Sunday – Thursday | 06:00 – 18:00-4 on, 4 off working pattern

KPI Recruiting are working with a well-established organisation to recruit an experienced General Haulage Planner. This is a great opportunity for an organised and proactive individual to join a busy transport operation, coordinating loads, routes, vehicles and drivers to ensure goods are moved efficiently and compliantly.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and coordinate the movement of goods.
Allocate jobs to drivers and vehicles.
Plan cost-effective routes considering fuel, time and tolls.
Schedule deliveries and collections.
Monitor driver hours and ensure compliance.
Communicate with customers regarding ETAs and delays.
React quickly to traffic, breakdowns and last-minute jobs.
Plan and source backloads to maximise vehicle utilisation.
Keep transport systems accurately updated to support timely invoicing.
Work closely with drivers, warehouses and customers to ensure smooth operations.

Skills & Experience

Previous experience in transport planning or haulage.
Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
Good knowledge of UK roads, motorways and restrictions.
Confident using Transport Management Systems, Excel and tracking software.
Experience with GPS and route planning systems.
Understanding of digital tachograph data.
Excellent communication skills.
Strong problem-solving ability and the confidence to work under pressure.
Proactive approach with good attention to detail.
