Your Key Responsibilities

As General Manager, you will:

• Build and inspire a high-performing team from recruitment to induction and beyond.
• Lead the successful operational launch of the Birkdale village, setting strong foundations for quality and performance.
• Deliver excellent care and community services in line with regulatory, financial and cultural goals.
• Act as the ambassador for Belong Birkdale in the local area – building visibility, engagement, and trust.
• Maximise revenue opportunities and ensure financial sustainability through strong commercial leadership.
• Champion customer experience, safeguarding, health & safety, and compliance standards.
• Lead with visibility, warmth, and consistency – becoming the heart of the community.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

• Educated to degree level (or equivalent in leadership, management, social care or health)
• Extensive leadership experience in a customer-centred industry (e.g. social care, health)
• Demonstrated financial management experience – budgets, cost control, and forecasting
• Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams with strong HR and development practice
• Strong communication skills across diverse audiences – from residents and families to regulators
• Proficient IT skills (Microsoft Office, reporting systems)
• Full, clean UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
• Knowledge of CQC-regulated care setting

Desirable

• Postgraduate qualification in management or related discipline
• Experience launching or transforming new services/sites
