General Teaching Assistant (Secondary)
A fantastic opportunity is available for a General Teaching Assistant to join a high -performing and inclusive secondary school in Barnet. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, supporting students within mainstream classrooms across a range of subjects.
The role includes:
• Supporting students during lessons to help them stay focused, engaged, and motivated
• Working closely with teachers to deliver effective classroom support
• Providing targeted help to individuals or small groups where required
• Assisting with lesson preparation, resources, and classroom organisation
• Acting as a positive role model and promoting high standards of behaviour and conduct
• Supporting students’ wellbeing throughout the school day
The ideal candidate will:
• Have experience working with children or young people (school -based experience is beneficial but not essential)
• Be patient, adaptable, and confident in a busy classroom setting
• Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Be proactive, reliable, and able to use initiative
• Show a clear commitment to safeguarding and student welfare
