Geography Teacher Independent School, West Midlands

An independent school in the West Midlands is seeking to appoint a Geography Teacher to join its department from September. This full-time role offers the opportunity to teach within an academically ambitious school that values enquiry, fieldwork, and global awareness.

About the Role You will teach Geography across KS3, KS4, and KS5, covering physical and human geography topics with strong emphasis on fieldwork, data skills, and current global issues. Small class sizes allow for close support of individual students.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach Geography across KS3, KS4, and KS5

• Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Geography examinations

• Plan and lead fieldwork in line with exam board requirements

• Develop students' skills in data analysis, mapping, and enquiry

• Provide detailed feedback to support coursework and exam preparation

• Contribute to enrichment activities such as field trips or guest speakers

Candidate Requirements

Essential

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Strong subject knowledge of Geography across KS3 and KS4

• Experience teaching Geography at secondary level

• Confidence planning and leading fieldwork

Desirable

• Experience teaching A-Level Geography

• Experience using GIS or data-handling software

• Experience working in an independent school setting

• Interest in organising overseas or residential field trips
