Our purpose is to deliver energy to the world, today and tomorrow. For over 100 years, bp has focused on discovering, developing, and producing oil and gas in the nations where we operate. We are one of the few companies globally that can provide governments and customers with an integrated energy offering. Delivering our strategy sustainably is fundamental to achieving our ambition to be a net zero company by 2050 or sooner.
Role Summary:

Actively identifies opportunities to share learning across Exploration, Regions, and GSS.
Strengthens risk and uncertainty management – Works with squad leads and other Team Leaders to ensure technical planning is fit for purpose, integration with broader subsurface workflows is effective, and verification plans are in place and executed, including compliance requirements. Promotes a strong technical and business “speak up” culture that encourages constructive challenge, transparent uncertainty communication, and closure of verification gaps to mitigate risk.
Supports people development and deployment – Supports staff development, deployment, and performance management in partnership with P&C. Motivates team members to build technical and leadership capability and supports career progression. Builds future capability for bp through ownership of the Carbonate ADP. Recognizes and addresses wellbeing, workload, and discipline health risks. Creates a culture of inclusion, cross-discipline collaboration, and sustainable performance.
Defines and delivers work standards – Provides technical coaching when required and contributes technical expertise to squads. Seeks input from relevant specialists and advisers to drive technical excellence and resolve complex technical challenges aligned with team and unit priorities.
Drives innovation and continuous improvement – Identifies opportunities to test and deploy new technologies and workflows through collaboration with other Team Leaders, I&E, and active Community of Practice participation. Leads knowledge management, lesson sharing, and continuous improvement across squads and units. Recognizes workflow and toolkit gaps and partners with Subsurface Transformation and I&E to address them.
