Geotechnical Engineer - Investigation Supervisor Location: Grimsby to Walpole (and possibly other GGP schemes) Contract Type: Approximately 12 months, starting beginning of September
Summary We are seeking 2-4 experienced Geotechnical Engineers with a minimum of 3-5 years' site experience to take on the role of Investigation Supervisor. The successful candidates will be responsible for overseeing ground investigation activities for a new power line corridor project. This role involves managing site operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to accurately assess ground conditions. The position requires hands-on site leadership and technical expertise to support the delivery of high-quality geotechnical data and reporting.
Key Responsibilities Supervise and manage ground investigation works on site, ensuring safety and quality standards are met Coordinate with project teams and contractors to deliver investigation objectives Monitor and report on site progress, risks, and issues Interpret geotechnical data and support preparation of technical reports Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and project specifications Support logistical planning and resource management across multiple sites
Skills Minimum 3-5 years' site experience in geotechnical engineering Strong knowledge of ground investigation techniques and site supervision Ability to interpret geotechnical data and reports Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities Health and safety awareness and compliance experience Ability to work independently and as part of a team Experience working on infrastructure or power-related projects advantageous Flexibility to work across multiple locations Valid UK driving licence preferred
