Geotechnical Engineer

We are growing our geotechnical team and need an engineer to design foundations and manage ground investigations.

What you will do

* Plan and supervise ground investigations, including boreholes, trial pits and lab testing

* Interpret ground data and write Ground Investigation and Geotechnical Design Reports

* Design foundations, retaining walls, slopes and earthworks to Eurocode 7

* Carry out analyses for settlement, bearing capacity and slope stability

* Advise clients, designers and contractors on ground risks

* Support site work during construction

What you need

* Degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology or a related subject; an MSc in geotechnics is an advantage

* 3+ years in geotechnical design or ground investigation

* Good knowledge of Eurocode 7 and UK ground investigation practice

* Experience with analysis software such as Plaxis, Slope/W or Oasys

* Full UK driving licence and a CSCS card, or able to get one

Nice to have

* Contaminated land assessment experience

* Infrastructure experience (highways, rail or flood defence)

* Chartered status (CEng) with ICE or the Geological Society, or working towards it
Only candidates based in UK and eligible to work in UK are allowed
