German Speaking Media and PR Manager

Job Description

An international business engaged in renewable power generation and energy supply, as well as being active in the energy trading market, is looking for an experienced communications professional to join in a newly created role, working with the Group media and public relations team with responsibility for proactively building relations and engaging with international energy and financial media and other stakeholders to support the positioning and visibility of the brand internationally.

Key responsibilities include:
Responsible for the development and execution of media relations across the international business
Build and maintain close relationships with London based international media and German media and respond to media enquiries
Develop and draft regular content for all channels
Work closely with agencies to maximise and realise media opportunities for the organisation
Act as a member of the crisis team
Manage the international conference engagement programme and in the preparation of briefings and presentations for the organisation’s spokespeople
Review and recommend additional opportunities to support the organisation’s visibility amongst international stakeholders

Key skills:
Previous communications experience gained either in agency or in-house, preferably with experience within the energy and/or financial services sector
Proven relationships with London based international media and experience working with European media, particularly German media
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Fluent German speaker
Critical and strategic thinking capabilities
Crisis communication experience
Ability to build strong relationships across all levels within the organisation
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
