Global Internal Communications Manager
Full-time, Permanent
Location: Hybrid, with a requirement to work from HALO’s office (usually London, but could be Salisbury, Wiltshire) occasionally. Overseas travel required to visit and engage with our global colleagues.
Salary: £46,912 - £52,429 (dependent on experience)
About HALO:
The HALO Trust is the world’s largest and oldest international humanitarian mine action non-government organisation (NGO). For over thirty years, we have been saving lives and helping war-torn communities recover, by making their land safe. Our mission is to protect lives and restore the livelihoods of those affected by conflict.
HALO is known for its work to clear landmines, but we also lead on dealing with unexploded ordnance, from bullets to aircraft bombs, and we educate communities to keep them safe. In addition, we build safe arms stores and systems for securing guns. HALO was established in Afghanistan in 1988 and now employs over 12,000 staff in 30 countries and territories.
About the role:
We’re looking for a talented Internal Communications Manager to transform the way we communicate with our employees around the world. HALO has grown significantly over recent years and we have a wealth of news, information and stories to share with our staff in the UK, US, The Hague and across 30 programmes around the world.
Our pulse surveys indicate that our employees are inspired by their work and committed to helping the organisation succeed, but we need to get better at keeping them informed. Reporting to the Head of Digital Platforms, and working with colleagues in Comms, HR and Programmes, your mission will be to harness our internal comms channels and help ensure our employees feel valued, motivated and connected. You’ll also keep an eye on external channels like LinkedIn and contribute to building our employer brand here as well.
You’ll also partner with colleagues in Employee Engagement to design and deliver a programme of user research activity that surfaces currently unmet internal comms needs among staff. You’ll use this qualitative insight to make recommendations – this is likely to include the consideration of a new intranet for staff, for which you’ll be the product owner, so an interest in digital product management is important.
If you have a track record of success in internal comms and you’re looking for a new challenge, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing team.
