Job Description - Global Product Marketing Leader

Infopro Digital group are recruiting for a Global Product Marketing Leader on a permanent basis to join Haynes Group Limited, part of the Infopro Digital Automotive Consumer division based in the UK.

The Product Marketing leader is a key to identifying which customer segments, product proposition/positioning, investment case, and communications that will increase the paid market for DIY content in each market. The role is responsible for understanding DIY consumer segments, establishing consumer product usage/value (for pricing), relative competitive positioning, and identifying opportunities to increase the size of the DIY paid market.  

The role will source effective ongoing product positioning assets that reflect the product value/proposition, customer segments, product brand hierarchy, unique selling points for each usage occasion, and be involved in identifying product priorities (range, channel etc). The role will also identify unserved DIY needs and assist in prioritising product priorities for country leaders and product build organisation.

  • Product sales penetration per vehicle vs target (per market)
  • Proposition & pricing plan & evaluation per market
  • Growth in target propositions/sales in existing & expansion markets vs target
  • This job is hybrid-based, and the successful candidate will have the option of using our London and/or Yeovil offices. 

Key Responsibilities

  • DIY Consumer/Market Research and Analysis:
  • Conduct/guide thorough market research and competitive analysis to identify market & consumer DIY opportunities, customer product usage occasions, industry developments that impact DIY consumers, and potential new usage opportunities for paid market growth.
  • Monitor competitor products and pricing strategies to benchmark against the company's offerings and communications.
  • Assess/Evaluate product-market fit for new international countries
  • Customer Insights:
  • Gather and analyse customer feedback, surveys, and usage data to gain insights into customer needs, pain points, and preferences to help focus/prioritise roadmap planning.
  • Identify customer segments, user stories, and personas to help inform the creation of assets for product positioning and DIY customer targeting.
  • Product Performance Analysis with customers feedback (Customer A/B testing & Retention program):
  • Track and analyse product performance metrics, product testing, customer adoption rates, and customer churn, to evaluate the success of current product & communications strategies with new and existing customers.
  • Identify areas for improvement and optimisation to enhance product performance/functionality to drive higher NPS and/or more positive word of mouth marketing. 

Data Interpretation and Reporting:

  • Translate complex customer data into clear and actionable insights for key stakeholders and decision-makers eg pricing priorities, product sales trends, opportunities, forecasting, country-specific business planning
  • Prepare and present regular reports on sales trends, sales to target customer segments, and product performance vs consumer needs to support strategic planning.
  • Competitive Analysis:
  • Monitor and assess competitor products, market share, and pricing to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in the market.
  • Provide recommendations for product positioning and differentiation based on competitive intelligence.
  • Collaborative Support:
  • Work closely with product managers, sales teams, and other stakeholders to provide analytical support for product development,marketing campaigns, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Assist in developing product roadmaps based on data-driven insights.
  • Product Strategy Recommendations:
  • Use data analysis and market insights to make strategic recommendations for new product features, improvements, or expansions to country leaders.
  • Assist in defining pricing strategies and product packaging recommendations.
  • Channel strategy and DIY Innovation:
  • Stay up-to-date with DIY trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in customer-led innovation & digital development.
  • Contribute to discussions about innovative ideas that can drive the company's product proposition offerings forward to target DIY customer segments (which ever channel they shop-in eg mobile).
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Statistics, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience in customer data analysis, market research, or product proposition development-related roles especially software related.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, and data analysis platforms.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders including creative agencies (for development product/ marketing assets)
  • Detail-oriented with a keen ability to spot patterns and trends in customer insight in the use of products for specific solutions.
  • Understanding of product/ software development and product lifecycle concepts (to help prioritise product features, identify opportunities).
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work effectively in crossfunctional teams.
  • Familiarity with market research techniques, survey methodologies, and customer feedback analysis to effectively position and sell products.
  • Passion for understanding customer needs and contributing to the success of innovative products based upon customer-led insights.

Location: Hybrid working - attending either the Sparkford or London office at least 2 days per week and subject to colleague meetings where in-person attendance is beneficial.
