Goods In / Stores Person

Location: Cambridge (CB25)
Duration: Ongoing with the potential to go temp to perm
Hours: 8.00am - 4.00pm, Monday to Friday with an hours lunch break (35 hours per week)
Salary: Up to £14.50 per hour depending on experience

We are looking for an organised and reliable Goods In / Stores Person to join a busy manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for receiving and checking incoming materials, maintaining accurate stock records and ensuring components are available for production and project builds.

Responsibilities

- Receive and check deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes
- Inspect incoming components for damage and obvious quality issues
- Check sheet metal and precision-machined parts against drawings
- Accurately record goods received using an ERP/MRP system
- Kit and issue materials for production and project builds
- Maintain an organised stores, warehouse and WIP areas
- Carry out stock checks and investigate inventory discrepancies
- Monitor stock levels and highlight potential shortages
- Process returned and rejected materials in conjunction with Production and Quality
- Safely handle materials using pallet trucks, trolleys and other equipment

Requirements

- 1-2 years' experience in a stores, warehouse or inventory role
- Ideally, experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment
- Basic computer skills and experience using an ERP/MRP system
- Good attention to detail, particularly when checking part numbers and quantities
- Organised and proactive approach to work
- Comfortable with a physically active role involving lifting, bending and standing
- Able to work effectively in a busy environment where priorities can change
