Job Description - Graduate Business Consultant

We are:

an independent digital transformation consultancy with clients in the public and private sectors. We pride ourselves on our ability to solve difficult problems, applying technology in innovative ways to do this. We focus on understanding our client's business and work with them to deliver change that makes them more effective. Our services are wide-ranging, from advising on technology strategy and conducting digital discoveries to full development lifecycle services and in-live support.

We are looking for candidates with a keen interest in pursuing a career in technology. You will join us as a Graduate Business Consultant in our Business Consulting practice where we'll provide you with all the support and training required to develop into a well-rounded consultant.

The Role:

Business Consulting focuses on understanding users' needs and problems, and finding effective and creative solutions to address them. This role offers you the opportunity to work in high-performing teams in a range of projects, from large transformation programmes to bespoke solution development, with different clients and technology solutions. Our Business Consultants act as the bridge between the client and the development team, understanding what clients want and need from a digital service and translating requirements into innovative technical solutions.

We recognise that graduates may not yet know where they want to specialise, so to help you decide your ideal pathway and give you a breadth of experience, you will have the opportunity to try different roles on different projects before honing in on your chosen specialisms. Some areas you may specialise in include:

Product and service management
Business architecture
Service design
Business and systems analysis

Candidates should be open to working in different locations for different clients. Although most of our work is in London, candidates should be happy to travel as client needs dictate.

Main duties:

As a Business Consultant you will be:

Working across a range of sectors, clients, and projects to address challenges for our clients
Bridging the gap between technology and business needs.
Applying your technical awareness together with your communication and problem-solving skills to understand and solve the route of our client's problems.
Ensuring that technology is applied correctly, provides a great user experience, and is accessible to all who need it.
Working closely with users to understand their needs and pain points, before translating this understanding into agile work items for our technical experts to deliver on.
Applying your general technical skills and knowledge to influence and direct technology decision-making
Assisting with internal projects and practice development to help grow the Business Consulting practice

Typically, you will work on a particular project for 6-12 months before moving on to a new challenge. You will be part of a larger team, working with and learning from experienced consultants.

Requirements

About you:

Candidates should have a strong academic background and demonstrate a genuine interest in technology. We are looking for people who are logical, critical thinkers, who enjoy tackling different problems in a structured way without stifling creativity and innovation. Our consultants should be highly motivated self-starters, have great interpersonal and communication skills, integrity, and a strong desire to deliver the best possible results for our clients.
