Job Title: Graduate Conflicts Assistant
Salary: £28,000
Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire
Contract: Full time, permanent, hybrid


Role Overview:


Our client, a prestigious international law firm renowned for its excellence in legal and business advisory services, is seeking to expand its Risk & Compliance function. Due to continued growth, an opportunity has arisen for multiple Conflicts Assistants to join the team.
This role sits within the Legal Conflicts Department and provides crucial support in maintaining regulatory compliance and safeguarding the firm's reputation by assisting with conflict checks and risk assessments across a global platform.

Key Responsibilities:


As a Conflicts Assistant, your role will involve providing essential support to the Conflicts Team in a fast-paced, professional services environment. Key responsibilities will include:


  • Conducting thorough client and matter searches using the firm's internal conflicts database.

  • Assisting in the analysis of conflict check results and flagging potential legal, ethical, or commercial concerns to senior team members.

  • Liaising with colleagues across international offices to gather and verify information related to new clients, matters, or engagements.

  • Reviewing external media sources and public databases to identify any reputational risks associated with clients or counterparties.

  • Preparing and formatting conflict reports for review by Conflicts Analysts and Managers.

  • Supporting the accurate input and maintenance of data within conflicts and client intake systems.

  • Escalating identified issues in line with the firm's internal protocols and regulatory guidelines.

  • Collaborating with other business support teams (e.g., Business Acceptance, AML, Risk) to ensure a smooth client onboarding process.

  • Undertaking general administrative tasks such as document management, inbox monitoring, and database housekeeping as required by the team.

  • Degree Educated (2:1 or higher)
  • Previous experience in professional services desired
