Your Responsibilities

As a Graduate Cover Supervisor, you will take responsibility for supervising classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring pupils remain engaged and complete their assigned work.

Supervise secondary school classes across a range of subjects during teacher absences.
Deliver pre-planned lessons and ensure students understand the work they need to complete.
Manage classroom behaviour, maintaining a positive and productive learning environment.
Build professional relationships with students and establish clear classroom expectations.
Support pupils with their learning, providing guidance and encouragement where appropriate.
Follow school policies relating to behaviour, safeguarding and classroom management.
Work closely with teaching staff and senior leaders to ensure continuity of learning.
Develop your confidence leading lessons and managing groups of secondary school students.

A degree in any subject, ideally with an interest in secondary education.

Previous experience working with young people is advantageous but not essential.
