Job Description - Graduate Engineer

This role could be based from our Edinburgh or Glasgow offices depending on candidate preference.

The Company
Green Cat Renewables (GCR) is a dynamic, innovative company that provides the complete range of technical services required to deliver renewable energy projects. The team of over 80 Engineers and Environmental Consultants deliver projects on behalf of Clients from four offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Livingston and our UK Head Office in Biggar GCR also works closely with its two sister companies Green Cat Hydrogen based in the UK and Green Cat Renewables Canada based in Calgary and Halifax.
Through the Engineering Department, the company provides Engineering Consultancy and Project Management services to Clients. This includes: planning condition discharge; detailed civil, structural and electrical design; hydrology and energy yield analysis; procurement; project finance technical assistance; contract preparation, negotiation and management; site supervision; civil, mechanical and electrical inspections; and other requirements relating to the design and construction of wind, hydro, solar, hydrogen, storage and hybrid projects.
Green Cat Renewables requires a Graduate Engineer to join the Engineering team in Edinburgh and be part of the delivery team for a range of renewable energy projects.

The Role
Assist in supervision and management of renewable energy projects including all aspects of the services provided by the department as noted above.
Write technical reports and prepare project documentation.
Assist in supervision of contractors carrying out construction and other services on project sites.
Liaise with external stakeholders.
Report on:
Project Risks
Tasks/Analysis
Site Visits
Meetings
Liaise internally with project team/manager and ensure all corporate policies and quality management systems are fully adhered to.

The Candidate
The candidate would ideally have the following:
Relevant Engineering Degree
Proven interest in the renewables sector and awareness of sustainability targets.
Excel proficiency required.
Proactive, adaptable mind-set with a willingness to work independently or as part of a team.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
An enquiring/questioning approach.
Willingness to learn about aspects of projects which are currently unfamiliar.
Willingness to travel within and outwith the UK if required.
Valid Driving Licence for use within UK.
