Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer

Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer required for my client, a global leader in the design and manufacture of heavy industry special purpose equipment for a range of sectors. You will be responsible for applying an innovative approach to design while preparing drawings and Bills of Materials for the manufacture of company products.

Key Responsibilities of the Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer:

• Review Sales Orders and Sales Releases to determine contract release requirements
• Work alongside design engineers to develop products using AutoCAD and SolidWorks
• Create detailed technical engineering drawings for both manufacture and assembly
• Prepare Bills of Materials
• Responsible for complete and accurate contract releases for manufacture
• Continued design development and refinement for existing and new products

Experience & Skills of the Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer:

• BEng Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Direct experience is not essential however, experience of product design within University projects, work experience or industrial placements would be advantageous
• Adept in creating and interpreting technical engineering drawings
• Competent in a range of CAD software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks
• Proficient IT skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc..)
• Genuine interest and enthusiasm in product design and development
• Fast learner with the ability to acquire new skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
• Approaches problem solving in a logical and innovative way
• Good communication skills with the ability to build strong working relationships and share technical information with people at all levels
• Ability to work autonomously and as a team player, delivering projects on time
• Completes tasks thoroughly and accurately with a high level of attention to detail
