Graduate or Assistant Quantity Surveyor

My well established construction client specialising in refurbishment and fit-out projects, is actively looking to appoint a Graduate or Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Oxford.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their commercial career within a supportive construction environment, gaining hands-on experience across a range of refurbishment projects.

The Role

Working alongside experienced commercial and project management professionals, you will support the financial and commercial management of projects from pre-construction through to completion.

Your responsibilities will include:

Assisting with the preparation and management of project budgets and cost plans

Supporting the procurement and subcontractor tendering process

Reviewing subcontractor quotations and preparing comparisons

Assisting with valuations, variations and change control

Monitoring project costs and maintaining accurate commercial records

Supporting the preparation of payment applications and final accounts

Assisting with subcontractor and client meetings

Working closely with site and project teams to understand project progress and commercial performance

Developing your knowledge of contracts, procurement and construction cost management

I am looking for a motivated and commercially minded individual who is keen to build a long-term career in quantity surveying.

You may be:

A Graduate Quantity Surveyor looking to take the next step in your career

An Assistant Quantity Surveyor with some construction experience

A recent graduate with a relevant degree such as Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or Construction Management

Working towards, or interested in pursuing, a professional qualification such as RICS

Experience within refurbishment, fit-out or general building construction would be advantageous, although a strong attitude and willingness to learn are equally important.
