Graduate Psychology SEMH & Autism SEN Teaching Assistant Required A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Clapham, Lambeth is seeking a motivated and dedicated Graduate Psychology SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team on a long-term basis.
This rewarding role involves providing 1:1 support for a Year 2 pupil with Autism, helping them to access learning, develop social and communication skills, and achieve their full potential within a nurturing mainstream primary environment.
The school is looking for an articulate graduate with previous SEN experience who is passionate about supporting vulnerable children and interested in pursuing a career in education, educational psychology, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, or child mental health services.
Key Responsibilities
Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with Autism in Year 2.
Implement personalised learning and behavioural strategies.
Support the child's academic, social, emotional, and communication development.
Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, parents, and external professionals.
Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in learning.
Assist with classroom activities and interventions where required.
Support the pupil's emotional regulation and wellbeing throughout the school day.
Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to teaching staff.The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will:

Be a Psychology graduate or hold a degree in a related field.
Have previous experience working with children with SEN, Autism, SEMH, or additional learning needs.
Be passionate about supporting vulnerable children to achieve positive outcomes.
Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Be highly organised, punctual, and reliable.
Demonstrate patience, resilience, and a proactive attitude.
Be committed to building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
