We're working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school close to Bradley Stoke that is looking for a full-time SEN Learning Support Assistant to join their team. This is a long-term opportunity supporting children across mainstream classrooms and within the school's behavioural support provision.
The school serves a diverse community and is committed to helping every child feel safe, valued and able to succeed. You'll work alongside experienced teachers and support staff, gaining first-hand experience of how schools support pupils with a range of additional needs.
What you'll be doing
Supporting pupils with SEND and additional learning needs Working alongside teachers in mainstream classrooms Providing support within the school's behavioural provision Helping pupils engage with learning and develop confidence Building positive relationships and promoting emotional wellbeing Contributing to a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment
Who this role would suit
Graduates considering a future career in education Psychology, Sociology, Criminology or Childhood Studies graduates Individuals interested in SEN, behaviour support or pastoral work Anyone looking to gain meaningful school-based experience before teacher training or further study
What we're looking for
A positive, patient and resilient approach Strong communication and relationship-building skills A genuine interest in supporting children and young people SEN experience is preferred, but not essential
What you'll receive
Pay from £14.25 per hour Long-term, full-time experience in a supportive primary school Access to a wide range of CPD and professional development opportunitie All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
