Are you a Psychology, Sociology, Education, or related graduate looking to gain hands-on experience?
Teaching Personnel are recruiting passionate and resilient graduates to support a Year 2 pupil with behavioural and additional learning needs (ALN) on a 1:1 basis in a Newport primary school.
This role is ideal for those considering careers in:
Educational Psychology Teaching / PGCE SEN/ALN support Child therapy, social work or youth services
Provide consistent 1:1 classroom support Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour Use trauma-informed and de-escalation strategies Follow behaviour and support plans Encourage engagement with learning and routines Support transitions and maintain a calm environment Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo
What We’re Looking For
Passion for supporting children with behavioural needs and trauma Calm, patient and resilient approach Strong relationship-building skills Confident managing challenging behaviour Observant and responsive to triggers Desirable experience:
Working with children (education, coaching, care, youth work) Supporting ALN/SEN or behavioural needs
Ideal Graduate Profile
Degree in Psychology, Sociology, Education or related Empathetic and emotionally intelligent Proactive and adaptable Firm but fair approach Interested in long-term career progression in education
