Location: Flexible / Hybrid (with regular travel to Skipton, North Yorkshire)
Employment Type: Full-time (Part-time considered)
Salary: Competitive graduate salary + benefits

Are you a recent graduate with a passion for shaping the future of rural places? This is an excellent opportunity to begin your planning career within a forward-thinking, multi-disciplinary consultancy that helps landowners, estates, and rural businesses create thriving and sustainable developments across the UK.

About the Role

As a Graduate Planner, you'll work alongside experienced planning professionals, contributing to a wide variety of rural development and diversification projects. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting planning and development consultancy projects

  • Researching planning policy, land use, and site constraints

  • Assisting with site assessments, feasibility studies, and strategic land reviews

  • Drafting planning reports, development strategies, and proposals

  • Liaising with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders

  • Supporting project coordination and business development tasks as needed

You will gain hands-on experience across a broad spectrum of work, with mentoring and support towards professional accreditation.

What We're Looking For

  • A degree (or master's) in Town Planning, Rural Land Management, Geography, or a related field

  • A genuine interest in rural planning, policy, or countryside development

  • Strong written, verbal, and research skills

  • Analytical and detail-oriented mindset

  • Proactive, collaborative, and keen to learn

  • A full UK driving licence is essential due to the rural nature of project sites

This position is ideal for a graduate looking to make an impact in a values-driven consultancy focused on the rural economy and environment.

What's On Offer

  • Comprehensive graduate development and mentoring

  • Support toward RTPI or other relevant chartership

  • Flexible hybrid working

  • Discretionary bonus scheme

  • Private medical insurance (including dental and optical)

  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)

  • Wellness allowance

  • Cycle to work scheme

  • Additional paid leave for birthdays and Christmas

  • A collaborative and inclusive team culture

A Different Kind of Planning Career

This is more than a traditional planning role. You'll be part of a consultancy committed to rural progress - blending enterprise, sustainability, and place-making to help shape a vibrant future for the countryside.
