Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a leading planning and environmental consultancy with a strong reputation in delivering high-quality infrastructure projects across Ireland and the UK. Specialising in renewable energy and wireless telecommunications, the business has grown steadily since its establishment in 2008 and now operates from offices in both Galway and Liverpool.

You will work closely with the Senior Planner on a range of complex infrastructure planning applications, supporting the delivery of renewable energy and telecommunications schemes. This is a hands-on role, offering involvement in every stage of the planning process - from research and policy analysis to stakeholder engagement and report preparation.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to take on a broad range of responsibilities and will be supported in developing a clear progression path within the company as it continues to grow.

• Assist in the preparation and submission of planning applications

• Undertake background research, desk studies, and site visits

• Draft planning statements, reports, and supporting documentation

• Analyse planning policy and provide strategic recommendations

• Liaise with planning authorities, statutory consultees, and stakeholders

• Attend meetings with clients and project teams

• Relevant planning experience (post-graduate, public or private sector)

• Strong understanding of the Irish planning system (UK experience also considered)

• Recognised planning qualification (IPI or RTPI)

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines

• Strong analytical and report writing skills

• Project management experience beneficial

• Full driving licence and access to own vehicle
