Graduate Trainee - Lighting Category Manager - Luton

A market-leading £1 billion UK manufacturing and distribution group is looking for a recent graduate looking to kick-start their career in product management, marketing, and commercial strategy in Luton. We're looking for a motivated Graduate Lighting Category Manager to join our dynamic Retail team within a leading UK electrical products company.

What You'll Be Doing

Market Research & Trend Analysis

• Gather and analyse competitor activity, pricing, and consumer trends
• Provide insights that shape category strategy

Product Development & Range Support

• Collaborate on bringing new lighting products to market
• Help manage and innovate existing ranges

Marketing & Promotional Activity

• Support the creation and rollout of retail promotions
• Provide sales teams with insight and materials to grow customer relationships

Cross-Brand Collaboration

• Work across all brands in the group to understand category alignment
• Gain exposure to departments including sales, marketing, operations, and Far East suppliers

Sales Performance Monitoring

• Analyse sales data to evaluate product and category performance
• Present insights and suggest improvements to enhance offering

What We're Looking For

• A recent Graduate with a degree ideally in Business, Product Design, Engineering, or a related field
• A positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and a proactive mindset
• Someone who is curious about how products work and how they meet customer needs
• A team player who enjoys problem-solving
• Organised & Analytical
• Detail-oriented individual with strong Excel and data-handling skills
• A great communicator
• Someone who is confident presenting ideas and engaging with stakeholders
• A full UK Driving Licence Required (For occasional retail customer visits)
