Groundkeeper

We are seeking a reliable, skilled and proactive Groundskeeper to maintain the external grounds across multiple care home sites. The successful candidate will ensure all outdoor areas are safe, well-kept and visually appealing for residents, visitors and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain lawns, gardens, pathways, and outdoor communal areas across several sites.

• Carry out seasonal planting, pruning, hedge trimming, and weeding.

• Perform general grounds maintenance including litter removal, sweeping and pressure washing.

• Ensure all equipment is operated safely and maintained to required standards.

• Undertake minor repairs and general upkeep of external areas.

• Work in line with Health & Safety legislation (Health and Safety at Work Act 1974), COSHH requirements, and internal policies.

• Assist with site safety checks, including gritting and snow clearance during winter months.

• Travel between designated sites as required.

• Assist on-site maintenance team if required.

About You

• Previous experience in groundskeeping, horticulture, landscaping or a similar role.

• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively across multiple sites.

• Basic knowledge of safe use and maintenance of gardening tools and equipment.

• Good understanding of health and safety in outdoor working environments.

• Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle (essential).

• Flexible and willing to work additional hours when necessary (e.g., seasonal demands).
