We have the pleasure of supporting a PE backed UK manufacturing business with the recruitment of a Group Accountant for a long-established business who form part of a Group with a £65m turnover. This business has incredible growth plans to reach £100m within 3-5 years.

Based in Stoke-on-Trent, at the UK Head Office you will be working closely with the Group Financial Controller and Group Finance Director. This opportunity is a new role within the department and therefore offers an individual the opportunity to come in and be a part of continuous improvement, within a successful group of companies, alongside a Financial Controller who promotes autonomy and personal growth.

Main responsibilities of the Group Accountant role will include:

• Supporting month-end reporting, budgeting, statutory accounts and variance analysis.
• Liaising with the management accounts team at the month end, working with the GFD on Group Consolidation and GFC on the new system implementation.
• Maintaining regulatory compliance across all the companies in the group.
• Support with the financial assessment, due diligence and integration processes for acquisitions.
• Building dashboards and reports to support decision making across the business.
• Helping to streamline the month-end process through automation and improvements.
• Occasional travel to our UK-based sites to collaborate with colleagues, in person.
• Assisting the GFC with the group accounts and provide additional support on ad hoc projects.
• Working closely with the external Tax advisor for purposes like financial planning, performance evaluations, and risk management.

What you will need to succeed:

• ACCA or CIMA qualified or part qualified or qualified by experience
• Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
• Proactive, with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges
• Good communication skills and a collaborative approach.
• Comfortable working across teams, including with overseas finance functions.
• Experience of standard accounting software; proficient in Excel and PowerBI (desirable).
