Group Accountant

We have a Group Accountant opportunity for accounting professionals!

Simple Recruitment are delighted to be working with a local client, based in Radstock, who are looking for a Group Accountant to join their team on a temporary basis.

So, who are we looking for?

The Group Accountant will manage the financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance for a group of companies, ensuring all subsidiaries are consolidated into unified financial statements and adhere to accounting standards and regulations. Key duties include preparing consolidated financial statements and management reports, managing inter company transactions, assisting with audits, and collaborating with various levels of the organization to support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting & Consolidation: Preparing and presenting consolidated financial statements for the entire group.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Contributing to budget preparation and financial forecasting processes to inform strategic decisions.
• Compliance: Ensuring all subsidiaries comply with financial reporting standards, statutory requirements, and internal policies.
• Inter company Transactions: Managing and reconciling transactions between different companies within the group.
• Auditing: Liaising with internal and external auditors, preparing audit-related schedules, and responding to their queries.
• Analysis & Reporting: Analysing financial performance, investigating fluctuations in numbers, and producing management accounting information for leadership.
• Process Improvement: Identifying and implementing improvements to enhance financial processes and efficiency across the finance function.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

• Professional Qualification: Worked with a qualified accountant producing financial reports, filling tax claims, Completing R&D (e.g. AAT, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) or having relevant experience in a similar role.
• Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills, experience with ERP, payroll and tax systems and strong knowledge of consolidation and accounting standards, Using Sage One/Sage financial accounting and Sage line 50 (USA).
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with internal stakeholders and senior management.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to tackle complex financial issues.
• Teamwork: The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Salary: £36,000 - £40,000 per annum

Hours: Monday to Friday 8.00am to 4.00pm
