An excellent opportunity has arisen for a proactive, ambitious and commercially minded Group Accountant to join a growing manufacturing business based in South Birmingham.
We are supporting, exclusively with this newly created position offering the chance to work closely with the Financial Controller and play a key role in group reporting, cash flow management, statutory compliance and business performance analysis.
The position will initially be offered on a 3 to 4 day per week, onsite basis, with a strong likelihood of increasing to a full-time position within the next 12 months as the business continues to grow.
The Role
Key responsibilities will include:
* Preparing monthly management accounts, including balance sheet reconciliations.
* Preparing monthly group consolidations and management reporting.
* Completing VAT returns and ensuring statutory compliance.
* Managing payment runs and bank reconciliations.
* Supporting the annual external audit and coordinating information across the group.
* Providing financial reporting, forecasting and analytical support to operational sites.
* Assisting with finance process improvements, reporting enhancements and systems development.
* Producing ad hoc financial and commercial analysis to support business decisions.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally be:
* Part-qualified (ACCA, CIMA or ACA).
* Experienced within a manufacturing environment.
* Familiar with working in an SME business.
* Confident managing the full month-end accounting process.
* Highly proficient in Excel and comfortable using finance systems.
* Able to work independently and take ownership of key finance responsibilities.
* Organised, proactive and able to adapt within a fast-paced business.
* Detail-oriented with a practical, hands-on approach to problem solving.
Experience of group reporting, consolidations, cash flow forecasting, treasury activities or supporting multiple business entities would be advantageous but is not essential.
