Group Accounts Payable Team Lead

Hybrid (2 days per week in office - West Midlands)

Up to £35,000 per annum

Are you an experienced Accounts Payable professional ready to step into a leadership role? We're looking for a confident and proactive Group AP Team Leader to join a well-established finance function supporting two fast-paced, national businesses.

As the AP Team Leader, you'll oversee a team of six, ensuring accurate and timely supplier payments and driving performance to meet financial targets. You'll support your team's development, maintain process excellence, and play a key role in collaboration across departments such as Procurement, Supply Chain, and Operations.

• Lead and coach the AP team with regular 1:1s and performance reviews

• Maintain compliance with internal controls, financial policies, and audit requirements

• Drive process improvements and oversee invoice processing

• Manage payment runs and cash flow forecasting

• Reconcile supplier statements and manage aged creditor reports

• Collaborate with offshore processing teams and internal stakeholders

• Produce KPI reports and support month-end close activities

• Proven experience in an Accounts Payable leadership or supervisory role

• Solid understanding of procure-to-pay processes and ERP systems

• Strong Excel skills and data handling confidence

• A people-first mindset with excellent communication and coaching abilities

• AAT Level 3 or equivalent qualification preferred, but not essential

• Salary up to £35,000
