Group Assistant Accountant

CMA are currently working with a globally know organisation who operate within a really exciting sector. Based in Hedge End, they are looking to appoint an Assistant Accountant to join their established and successful team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a candidate who has some accounting experience, in the early stages of their finance career and looking for a role that will allow for development and progression.

What will the Assistant Accountant role involve? 

• Responsible for ensuring ledger integrity and implementing controls
• Prepare key information required for monthly management account packs
• Reconciliation of balance sheets
• Reconciliation of bank accounts
• Assist with year-end audit queries
• Responsible for reconciling payments on a daily basis and resolving discrepancies
• Providing accurate and timely information to HODs
• Assisting sales ledger and purchase ledger, if required
• Ensuring VAT is correctly posted and assisting with VAT returns
• Manage month end activities
• Provide ad hoc support to Head of Finance as required

Suitable Candidate for the Assistant Accountant vacancy: 

• Ideally AAT qualified or studying towards an accounting qualification 
• A good understanding of basic accounting principles 
• Bookkeeping or previous accounting experience 
• Exceptional communication skills
