A well-established group is seeking a proactive and detail-focused Group Credit Control Assistant to support their finance operations. This opportunity offers exposure to a dynamic and fast-paced finance team where your contribution will directly impact cash flow and customer relationships.

Overview

Reporting to the Group Finance Manager, this role plays a key part in ensuring timely customer payments and accurate financial records. You'll liaise with internal teams and external clients to manage the credit control process effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Issue daily sales invoices for multiple business sites
• Monitor the credit control inbox and respond to queries promptly
• Review and file customer remittance advices
• Maintain strong relationships with customers to expedite payment resolution
• Keep customer account information updated, including invoice notes and disputes
• Update currency exchange rates weekly across systems
• Validate VAT on all relevant invoices
• Send monthly customer statements and follow up via email and phone
• Make collection calls ahead of month-end deadlines
• Provide holiday cover for senior finance staff, including daily banking duties
• Handle incoming calls for the finance department

Experience & Skills:

• Previous experience in credit control or a similar finance role
• Strong Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent time management and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Confident telephone communication skills
