Group Finance Controller - PE Backed Business

Job Title: Group Financial Controller/Finance Director - PE Backed

Job Summary:

Private Equity backed marketing and communications group are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Group Financial Controller to oversee the financial operations of our company. The Group Financial Controller will be responsible for managing accounting records, evaluating financial risks, ensuring compliance with regulations, and leading the financial reporting and budgeting process. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent analytical abilities, and a thorough understanding of financial management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all accounting operations including A/R, A/P, Management Accounts, Payroll, and Revenue Recognition.
• Assist the Financial Analyst with the budgeting/forecasting especially around balance sheet trends and cashflow.
• Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements, including Board pack to Bank and Private equity owners with commentary and covenants.
• Monitor and manage cash flow including cashflow forecast with a live ’13 week rolling forecast’
• Coordinate the preparation of regulatory and private equity reporting (and ad-hoc requests) and ensure compliance with financial accounting standards.
• Ensure tax compliance across the group.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Work with external auditors to ensure proper compliance with all regulations., accounts, and other financial transactions.
• Provide financial analysis and guidance on business plans
• Mentor and lead the finance team, fostering a high-performance environment.

Requirements:

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar
• ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent
• Experience in PE-backed business essential
• Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in financial management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Experience with financial reporting, taxation, team management, and audits.

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and financial regulations.
• Working in a divisional/multi-company business with intercompany entries and consolidation.
• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., currently use Paprika).
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial modeling.
• Strong attention to detail and problem solving,
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
