Job Description - Group Finance Manager

A fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional to take full ownership of group-level financial management. Be part of the leadership team and make your mark in a growing hotel group.

Client Details

Our client is an ambitious and expanding hotel group currently comprising two well-established properties:

  • Hotel 1 - 146 rooms, restaurant, bar, and event space for up to 200 guests.

  • Hotel 2 - 80 rooms with full F&B and events capability for up to 220 guests.
    With strong brands and experienced leadership, SGS Hotels is investing in the future-and you could help shape it.

Description

As Group Finance Manager, you'll oversee and lead all finance operations across both properties, working closely with company directors to ensure sound financial control and strategic insight. This is a hands-on, detail-driven role ideal for someone ready to own the full finance function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee full month-end processes and reporting

  • Prepare and analyse management accounts

  • Conduct detailed cash-flow management and forecasts

  • Lead VAT returns and ensure compliance with regulations

  • Maintain robust balance sheet controls and reconciliations

  • Manage accounts payable/receivable

  • Oversee payroll, PAYE, pensions, and supplier payments

  • Support annual audit preparation and delivery

  • Drive capital and asset management initiatives

  • Build and maintain financial systems and process integrity

Profile

Successful Candidate

We're looking for someone who is sharp, reliable, and forward-thinking. Ideally, you'll bring a solid hotel finance background, but more importantly, you're someone who can lead by example, communicate clearly, and solve problems proactively.

Must-Haves
  • Proven experience at Finance manager/Management accountant level

  • Management accounts and balance sheet expertise

  • Strong understanding of VAT, payroll, and audit processes

  • Excel whizz - comfortable with pivot tables and formulas

  • Experience with Sage Line 50 (essential)

  • Ability to manage AP/AR and nominal ledgers

  • Excellent communication skills at all levels

  • Comfortable working independently and owning results
