Group Financial Accountant

We’re partnering with an ambitious SME based in Manchester to find a Group Financial Accountant — a vital role responsible for maintaining the integrity of financial reporting, compliance, and audit readiness across the group.

Whether you’re ACA/ACCA qualified from a smaller practice with a hands-on approach, or a part-qualified accountant with strong technical foundations, this is a fantastic opportunity to step into a business-facing role with real impact.

• Own the group trial balance and manage all balance sheet reconciliations (payroll, VAT, accruals, intercompany, etc.)

• Submit accurate and compliant VAT returns and PAYE/NI schedules; support Corporation Tax filings

• Prepare year-end schedules and liaise with external auditors and accountants

• Maintain the fixed asset register and manage depreciation schedules

• Contribute to the preparation of statutory accounts and improvements in internal financial controls

• Ensure financial compliance across policies, processes, and deadlines

• Newly qualified ACA/ACCA, ideally from a small or mid-sized practice, or part-qualified with 7+ exams passed

• Experience with audit prep, financial reporting, and reconciliations

• High attention to detail and ownership mindset

• Strong technical grounding and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment
