Group Financial Controller
Real Estate Investment - Hotel focus
Hotel sector experience is a must
Hybrid
£65,000 - £75,000 + package and bonus

I'm delighted to be partnering exclusively with this growing Real Estate Investment Firm who have an expanding portfolio of hotels and residential developments. Reporting into the Finance Director, the Group Financial Controller will manage a number of cluster / hotel Financial Controllers as well as the small corporate team. The role will be extremely diverse and will involve supporting the Finance Director and other directors, managing and holding responsibility for the corporate / group finances and also being responsible for the operational finance. Based in the West End the role will be a hybrid role involving some days in the office and some days working from home.

Responsibilities will include:

Detailed monthly management account preparation for management company, development companies, and review of operating management accounts prepared by Asset Level Financial Controllers – to ensure quality, integrity and accuracy
Complete payroll for management company, and detailed review of operating entities
Regulatory compliance (PCI, new regulations such as with imports following Brexit, HMRC, information provision for banks)
Monitor project deadlines (i.e, PAYE, VAT, Key suppliers such as Franchisor and landlord) a. Preparation for SPVs managed internally b. Review of Asset level prepared reports
Forecast & Cashflow a. Asset level and management company i. 5 year P&L forecasts ii. Yearly asset budgets iii. Monthly SnapShot reports
Payment run preparation and invoice management (for management company and development SPVs)
Sourcing and monitoring certain commercial contracts such as credit cards, utilities, insurance, accounting software, recruitment
Asset level finance team performance monitoring
Updating and creating financial reports as required
Manage external audit process for full portfolio with support of the Director of Finance
Manage the completion of Corporation Tax analysis packs for management company and SPVs for tax advisors, with the support of the Director of Finance
Actively support wider team to ensure smooth deadlines
Regular decision-making analysis – outsource vs inhouse

As the ideal candidate you will be a qualified, part qualified or QBE (qualified by experience) accountant with a proven track record in the hotel industry, either in a Real Estate Investment Firm (Hotel focused) or the hotel itself. You will have excellent communication and systems skills and either have or be looking for an opportunity to manage and take on more responsibility.
