Group Financial Controller - Sheffield / Hybrid

Elevation Senior Finance are delighted to be partnering with Innovare Group, a successful and growing consultancy business as they look to recruit a Group Financial Controller.

Located in Millhouses, Sheffield, Innovare Group work with some of the largest infrastructure businesses in the World. Their team of industry leading specialists provide a variety of services ensuring the successful delivery of key infrastructure projects.

This is a new and pivotal role for the business. They are looking for a commercially minded finance leader, who will work closely with the senior leadership team to support the continuing growth of the business, by providing accurate financial reporting and analysis.

Financial Leadership & Strategy

• Lead the day to day financial operations: budgeting, forecasting, planning, and reporting across the Group

• Deliver insightful monthly and quarterly management accounts, along with weekly flash updates

• Provide financial modelling and scenario planning to support strategic decision-making and identify trends

• Take full ownership of the intercompany ledger, including forecasting and loan management

• Monitor KPIs and budget performance

Financial Operations & Control

• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely reporting

• Oversee general ledger integrity

• Manage accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and banking functions

• Ensure compliance with all statutory obligations including VAT, PAYE, and Corporation Tax

• Direct intercompany reporting and financial submissions to external auditors

• Support and improve internal control frameworks in line with UK GAAP

Business Partnership & Commercial Insight

• Collaborate with project teams and directors to evaluate financial performance pre- and post-project

• Assist with pricing strategies, tenders, and commercial negotiations

• Recommend operational improvements and lead initiatives in automation and reporting tools

• ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification (or equivalent)

• Significant experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role, ideally within consultancy or professional services

• Knowledge of UK accounting standards and intercompany financial governance

• Excellent communicator with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insight

• Strong IT skills including Excel
