Job Description - Group Reporting Specialist

ACA Qualified Accountant – Leading Sporting Group | London | Hybrid

Are you an ACA-qualified accountant from a top-tier practice looking to step into industry with a dynamic and globally recognized sporting organization? The Role

We are looking to work with a driven and commercially minded ACA-qualified Accountant to join our finance team. Reporting to senior leadership, you will play a key role in shaping the financial strategy and supporting decision-making across a multi-entity, fast-paced organisation. This is a hybrid position (3 days office / 2 days remote) offering both challenge and flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery to the Board and senior stakeholders
  • Lead on statutory reporting, consolidated accounts, and compliance with IFRS/UK GAAP
  • Oversee audit processes, managing relationships with external auditors and advisors
  • Develop and maintain robust financial controls across multiple business units
  • Deliver insightful analysis of financial performance, identifying risks, opportunities, and trends to support commercial decision-making
  • Partner with operational, commercial, and sporting teams to provide financial input into contracts, sponsorships, and new initiatives
  • Drive the budgeting and forecasting cycles, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives
  • Monitor cashflow and working capital, producing forward-looking forecasts to support investment planning
  • Evaluate business cases for new projects, events, and partnerships, providing financial modelling and recommendations
  • Support system improvements and automation projects to enhance reporting efficiency
  • Mentor junior finance staff and contribute to building a high-performing finance function

About You

  • ACA-qualified (Big 4 or top 10 practice background preferred)
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge with a solid grounding in audit, reporting, and controls
  • Commercially astute with the ability to influence and challenge stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-moving, high-performance environment
  • Passion for sport and/or media is advantageous but not essential
