We are recruiting a Group Transport Manager to manage and co-ordinate all aspects of transportation activities for a group of companies under one parent company. This is a senior role within the leadership team of a well-respected distributor of timber supplies / building materials distributor / builders merchants. All the relevant systems are in place but you will still have the opportunity to implement your own improvement strategies where appropriate.

Obviously, all vehicle management regulations must be adhered to and the ideal candidate would have a Transport Management CPC, IOSH, FORS accreditation, O Licence experience and would currently have CLOCS responsibility. Changes in

legislation must be monitored and your staff must be aware of any changes too. H & S familiarity should be second nature.

Super-strong attention to detail is required with a methodical approach. A good problem solving mentality is also needed with the ability to think on your feet!

This is a national role as the company has multiple sites throughout the country. Experience at this level is preferred.

Good people management skills are a must and should be used alongside excellent communication skills to avoid mis-information.

We are therefore looking for an ambitious, motivated and methodical individual with management experience within Transport and Warehousing. Hopefully this experience is derived from a current role within the builders merchants world or a sector that would mean you have relevant transferable skills.
