Job Description - Growth Marketing Designer

Role
This role is suited to a skilled graphic designer with a passion for developing creative for a range of channels (mainly digital channels) in a fast-paced growth marketing environment.

About the Subscriptions Studio
The Subscriptions Studio drives all subscriptions activity for DC Thomson and is responsible for the growth of revenue and profit from print and digital subscriptions. The team is made up of four core functions: Digital Subscriptions (paywall), Subscriptions Trading, Growth Marketing and Operations. This role sits in the Growth Marketing Team.

What to expect
You will help to grow audiences for subscriptions across our brands and channels by producing highly effective design. You will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and producing a high volume of assets without compromising on quality.

Providing a responsive, collaborative service you’ll produce video, animated and static images for use online, as well as page and brochure layouts for print to showcase our subscription products, enhance the customer experience and maximise conversions.

The Growth Marketing Team works across email, websites, online advertising channels and print, and you will be passionate about producing highly optimised assets for all of these.

Accountabilities and responsibilities
Act as a lead user of various tools to produce static/animated assets and video to drive subscriptions growth across websites, social channels, emails, display ads, video ads, printed page ads, brochures and more
In partnership with the Growth Marketing Design Manager work closely with the Brand Studio to ensure compliance with brand guidelines, and editorial teams to source assets and images and maintain consistency with subscription titles / products.
Respond to incoming briefs and collaborate with the Growth Marketing Design team to schedule work to meet agreed deadlines (including non-negotiable print deadlines).
Support the Head of Subscription Trading with onsite UX recommendations and design implementation.
Adhere to quality control processes, ensuring creative integrity, accuracy, brief fulfilment and completion of a sign-off process.
Work closely with specialists across the Growth Marketing Team to ingest data and insights to monitor and optimise new and existing assets.
Support a test and learn approach, testing CTAs, messaging, prompts, layouts, styles and more to ensure CTRs, engagement and conversion improve over time.
Store documents and files in way that is readily accessible and implement excellent version control.
Implement templates wherever possible to maximise efficiency, minimise errors and maintain consistency.

Knowledge, skills and attributes
The postholder should be able to demonstrate competence and previous experience in the following areas:
Using Creative Cloud software (Photoshop, InDesign) to develop high quality design.
Producing and editing multimedia content including video assets.
Responding to briefs accurately and to agreed timescales.
Demonstrating excellent attention to detail.
Utilising excellent communication and organisation skills.
Working as part of an eCommerce, digital marketing or content team.
Planning and managing priorities and competing deadlines.
Thinking mobile-first and considering user journeys and intent.
Testing, learning and iterating marketing materials.

Across the Subscriptions Growth Team colleagues have a shared responsibility to:
Be data and insight driven – injecting deeper audience data and insights into subscription management.
Be customer journey focused – understanding the customer journey funnels, focusing marketing efforts for maximum growth impact​.
Understand our profit and loss – focus on margin growth in the same way as revenue growth.
Encourage collaboration – work closely with the subscription team and the wider business to maximise audience opportunities and subscription revenue growth across our portfolio​.

This is a full-time position, working 35 hours per week from our Dundee Office. The role presents the opportunity for hybrid working that will include a minimum 2 days per month in our Dundee office.
