Fabric Engineer / Handy Man — iPSWICH

£Up to £33,000 + Benefits

A leading FM provider has a need for an experienced Fabric Engineer / Handy Man to come and join a well-established static contract based in IPSWICH. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a company renowned for their internal progression, training and long-term stability.

On offer is a competitive salary of up to £33,000, working Monday – Friday, 07:00 – 15:00, 37 hours per week.

To carry out planned and reactive fabric maintenance as instructed by the Helpdesk

To undertake general building maintenance, repairs and upkeep across the site

*

To carry out basic repairs to doors, locks, walls, ceilings, flooring and other building fabric

*

To assist with basic plumbing, carpentry and decorating tasks where required

*

To identify faults and report any issues requiring specialist attention

*

To participate in the emergency call out rota as required

*

To carry out tasks within typical plant room environments and at high level, working from platforms and ladders. All access equipment and PPE will be provided

*

Keep and maintain all company issued tools in a safe and serviceable manner

*

Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard

As the role involves working across the building and facilities, it is essential to demonstrate a good working knowledge of general building maintenance and fabric services, including but not limited to:

General building maintenance

Carpentry and basic joinery

*

Plumbing repairs

*

Painting and decorating

*

Doors, locks and ironmongery

*

Walls, ceilings and flooring

*

General repairs and fault finding

*

Safe use of hand and power tools

Qualifications:

*

No formal qualifications required

*

Previous experience in a fabric, handyman, maintenance or facilities role preferred

*

Building services knowledge advantageous

*

At least 2 years' experience in a similar role preferred

*

Full UK driving licence advantageous
Only candidates based in UK and eligible to work in UK are allowed
