Job Description - Head Chef

Job Title: Head Chef Brunch Specialist
Salary: £45,000 £50,000 per annum (DOE) + bonuses
Location: South West London

About the Role

Were looking for a dynamic Head Chef who can take ownership of a busy, health-focused café kitchen. This isnt just about running service its about putting your stamp on the menu, creating dishes that make people come back for more, and inspiring your team to deliver consistent excellence. Youll be responsible for everything from kitchen management to food innovation, ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly while keeping creativity at the forefront.

About the Client

Our client is a fast-growing café brand in South West London with a reputation for delivering vibrant, wholesome, and modern brunch dishes in a lively, social setting. With a strong focus on fresh produce, consistency, and customer experience, theyre looking for a Head Chef who will not only maintain their high standards but also help them evolve and push the boundaries of what great brunch can be.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday, 6:30 am 4:00 pm

  • 5 days on, 2 days off

  • 28 days holiday entitlement

  • Bonus scheme and genuine opportunities for progression

Key Duties

  • Lead and inspire the kitchen team in a high-volume, fast-paced environment

  • Design, develop, and refine a creative brunch-focused menu

  • Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and portion control

  • Manage stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships

  • Oversee kitchen standards, hygiene, and food safety compliance

  • Train, mentor, and motivate junior chefs and kitchen staff

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef (or strong Sous Chef ready to step up) in a high-volume café or restaurant

  • Passion for brunch and health-focused food concepts

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills

  • Flexible, proactive, and driven with a creative edge
