Job Description - Head Chef

Head Chef – New Smokehouse Restaurant, Whitechapel, London

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

We’re looking for an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead the kitchen team for an exciting new smokehouse-style restaurant opening soon in Whitechapel, London.

Our concept celebrates bold flavours and slow-cooked perfection — think smoked brisket, juicy burgers, flame-grilled steaks, and fall-off-the-bone ribs — all made with quality ingredients and serious attention to detail.

About the Role:

We’re looking for someone who thrives in a busy kitchen, has a love for open-fire and smoked cooking, and knows how to deliver consistent, high-quality dishes every service.

Responsibilities:

Lead and inspire a small but growing kitchen team

Oversee daily kitchen operations, from prep to service

Maintain high standards of food quality, hygiene, and presentation

Manage stock control, ordering, and food cost management

Ensure compliance with health and safety and food hygiene regulations

Work closely with management to drive success and consistency across the restaurant

About You:

Proven experience as a Head Chef or strong Sous Chef ready to step up

Expertise in smoked meats, BBQ, and grill

Strong leadership and communication skills

Organised, reliable, and able to perform under pressure

A team player with a hands-on approach
