Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
Direct and oversee the entire kitchen operation, ensuring seamless function, exceptional food quality, and adherence to safety and hygiene standards.
Menu Development:
Innovate and design menu offerings that reflect a high culinary standard, keeping up with trends and incorporating local, seasonal ingredients.
Event Catering:
Plan and execute menus for a variety of events, particularly weddings, ensuring each event is tailored to exceed guest expectations.
Cost Management:
Effectively manage kitchen budgets, food, and labour costs while maximising profitability.
Team Development:
Recruit, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous learning.
Quality Control:
Maintain the highest standards of food quality and presentation in all dishes served.
Supplier Relations:
Cultivate strong relationships with suppliers to ensure the procurement of high-quality ingredients.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Head Chef role, preferably in a 2-rosette or higher-rated restaurant.
Proven track record of managing kitchen operations effectively, including staff management, menu creation, and budgeting.
Exceptional culinary skills with a passion for creative menu development and a strong understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
Experienced in catering for high-profile events and weddings.
Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
