Job Description - Head of AI and Machine Learning

As the Head of AI and Machine Learning, you
will report directly to the board level and be the go -to leader within the
business for data, AI and automation. You will need to set the priorities for
your team, articulating and advocating your proposed agenda to non -technical
stakeholders, as well as setting the agenda for data science and the broader
data strategy within the business. The role will require you to co -ordinate
with underwriting and tech team as well as other senior leaders to identify
opportunities for machine learning to add value. You will propose and help to
deliver improvements to models, enhanced workflows and credit strategies, as
well as identifying gaps and solutions in existing processes.


Requirements

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Essential:

  • Extensive experience in people and
    strategic leadership.
  • Strong communication skills, with the
    ability to influence both technical and non -technical audiences.
  • Commercial mindset, with the ability to
    identify opportunities and drive change.
  • Strong problem -solving ability.
  • Experience with credit risk models.
  • Experience in Python.

Preferred:

  • Understanding of financial concepts such
    as discounted cash flows.
  • Experience working with AWS services.

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills;
  • Ability to remain calm under
    pressure and meet deadlines; 
  • Strong organisational skills
    with a high attention to detail;
  • Ability to prioritise and

    initiative as well as being a team player.
