Prospero Teaching is proud to be working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in the Bridgwater area to recruit an inspiring and ambitious Head of Art & Design.

This is an exciting temp-to-perm opportunity, ideal for an experienced teacher or aspiring middle leader ready to take the next step in their career and lead a diverse and creative faculty.

✨ The Role

As Head of Art & Design, you will lead and develop a dynamic department across:

Art
Photography
Design & Technology
Food TechnologyYou will play a key role in shaping a broad, engaging curriculum that nurtures creativity, technical expertise, and a passion for design, while driving high standards of teaching and learning across Key Stages 3 and 4.

✅ The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

✅ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
✅ Strong subject knowledge in Art, DT, Photography or Food Technology
✅ Proven success delivering high-quality teaching at KS3 and KS4
✅ Previous leadership experience, or clear leadership potential
✅ Ability to lead, motivate and develop a team
✅ Strong behaviour management and organisational skills
✅ A commitment to raising standards and curriculum development
✅ A genuine belief that every student can succeed👉 Please note: This position is not suitable for ECTs.
