About the Role:

As Head of Boys' PE, you will:

• Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Boys' PE program, aligning with the school's overall vision and educational goals.


• Develop and implement a curriculum that is engaging, challenging, and promotes lifelong participation in physical activity for all boys.


• Ensure the Boys' PE program complies with national curriculum requirements and incorporates innovative teaching methods.


• Lead by example, teaching high-quality PE lessons that foster a love of sport and physical activity amongst boys of all abilities.


• Oversee the work of PE teachers within the Boys' program, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.


• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the Boys' PE program, implementing improvements based on data analysis.


• Build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents, fostering a positive and inclusive environment within the Boys' PE program.


• Promote the importance of physical and mental well-being amongst boys, encouraging healthy lifestyle choices.


• Champion equal opportunities for all boys to participate and excel in PE and sports.


• Oversee and develop a range of extracurricular sports clubs and activities for boys, catering to diverse interests and abilities.


• Encourage participation in interschool competitions and external sporting events, providing guidance and support to student athletes.


• Collaborate effectively with other departments within the school to ensure a holistic approach to student development.


• Contribute to the wider school community by participating in school events and initiatives.

The Ideal Candidate:

• A highly qualified and experienced PE teacher with a proven track record of success in leading and developing PE programs, particularly for boys.


• Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring a love of physical activity and sport in young men.


• Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and empower staff.


• Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.


• A commitment to promoting equality and inclusivity within PE and sports.
