Job Description - Head of Brand

Gleeson Recruitment group are pleased to be working exclusively with a leading organisation within the precious metals retail industry is seeking a strategic and creative Head of Brand to join their team in Birmingham. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape the voice and presence of a high-performing eCommerce business operating in a competitive and prestigious market.

Job title: Head of Brand

Location: Birmingham

Salary: up to £70,000 (DOE) + bonus scheme

Contract: Full time, permanent, hybrid in office 4 days per week

Start date: April - July 2025

Working closely with the wider marketing, content, and customer service functions, you will be responsible for developing a compelling brand identity, delivering impactful content strategies, and ensuring consistency across all communication channels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a forward-thinking brand strategy across digital and traditional channels.

  • Lead the planning and creation of engaging, audience-led content aligned with brand values and business objectives.

  • Own and optimise display advertising campaigns to maximise brand reach and visibility.

  • Oversee media relations, building strong relationships with key press and media contacts to elevate brand reputation.

  • Manage and inspire a high-performing content team, fostering innovation and collaboration.

  • Ensure consistency and quality across all written content, including web, email, blogs, and printed materials.

  • Drive the brand's content evolution through insight-driven innovation and trend analysis.

  • Align content and communication strategies to improve customer engagement, retention, and acquisition.

  • Work cross-functionally to deliver a seamless brand experience across all customer touchpoints.

  • Monitor and evaluate campaign performance, providing strategic insights and data-driven recommendations.

Candidate Criteria
  • Proven experience developing and executing brand and content strategies, ideally within a retail or eCommerce environment.

  • Strong background in managing media relations, securing positive press coverage, and working with external agencies.

  • Exceptional copywriting and editorial skills, with the ability to tailor content to diverse audiences.

  • Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring content or marketing teams.

  • Excellent project and time management skills, with the ability to juggle competing deadlines.

  • Strong understanding of customer engagement principles and digital content performance metrics.

  • Creative mindset with a passion for storytelling and brand-building.

  • Familiarity with display advertising, SEO, and content marketing best practices.

  • Commercially aware with an ability to balance creativity and business objectives
